Payment Manager (South East Asia)

We're expanding our partner's fintech business into Southeast Asia and looking for a Payment Solutions Development Manager (SEA) to build and grow our network of local payment providers, gateways, and PSPs across the region. Our ideal match has fintech experience in the Asian market, deep knowledge of SEA's payment landscape, and a proactive, results-driven approach to closing partnerships fast.

Main Responsibilities

  • Regional expansion: Independently source, cold-onboard, and grow a network of local payment service providers (PSPs), gateways, and exchange services across SEA countries.
  • Local method optimization: Deep hands-on work with regional specifics (local bank transfers, QR codes — PromptPay, Momo, Dana, GCash). Daily monitoring of conversion (success rate) and transaction speed.
  • Integration management.
  • Market analytics and monitoring: Track regulatory changes across the SEA region, analyze competitors’ payment flows, and maintain a database of alternative solutions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Internal expertise: Train the team on user mentality and payment habits across Asia; prepare guidelines and video instructions.

Your Experience & Skills

  • Relevant experience: Background in payment systems or fintech companies focused on the Asian market.
  • Regional expertise: Understanding of the SEA payments landscape, knowledge of local market leaders, and cultural nuances of negotiation.
  • Communication and languages: Fluent English (Upper-Intermediate+) for negotiating with international partners.
  • Personal qualities: Proactive, “pushing” approach — able to drive partners and internal departments to launch solutions on time.
